Inspired Writing

This week I was sent in a story that Mark has been working on while watching the RTE School Hub and thankfully he has allowed me to share it.

I know lots of people in 3rd Class are doing extra activities right now along side the work sent home at the start of every week such as science experiments and baking. I would love to see these and share them here so please let me know what you're up to! Are you building? Are you unleashing your artistic flair? Are you creating a video? Let me know?

A final note: Even though the characters listed match staff from Firhouse ETNS, I can assure everyone that they are not the people being depicted in this story.

A glimpse of the week of April 27th- May 1st 2020 in 3rd Class. Also, even though I am currently in Kerry, I remain as happy as ever! No need to worry.

3rd Class Celebrate Grandparents Day 2020

3rd Class had the pleasure of celebrating Grandparents Day with some very special visitors. We were very grateful for their time as learned some much and were able to act as journalists as we recorded all the information in our own news articles. We even had one person in the class share an interview they did with their grandparent from overseas. Thanks to all who added to the day!

Self Expression Dress Up Day in Third Class

3rd Class Assembly
Third Class led the October assembly and brought the issue of the Right to a Home, which we have been discussing in class, to the whole school. The class did a terrific job retelling the story of Maria from Uganda that we learned about through Amnesty International and then described the issue in relation to Ireland. Third Class also created postcards for all classes to complete that are to tell the Minister for Housing why we feel he should work to guarantee everyone's right to a home.

An Eventful Half-Term for 3rd Class

3rd Class have been hard at work this half-term with European Schools Sports Day, Coding Week, Maths Week, Day of Climate Action, Writing Stories, working with Writing Partners and using iPads for research.
