Engineer's Week
(2nd - 8th March 2019)
We worked as engineers all week long, learning how to build the tallest structure we could from marshmallows and spaghetti. We also designed and created parachutes to test the best material that would allow our raw eggs fall to the floor without breaking! Some worked, others need further planning and engineering...
We took part in the Engineer's expo for the school; entering our homemade creations, from robots to weather systems!

Measure Up!
(January 2019)
We were learning how to measure items (and people) up to 1m in length.
We had lots of fun working with straws to make stick men/women using different lengths for their body parts.

Tag Rugby
(January 2019)
- Our class began our 4-week programme learning the rules and skills to play tag rugby. Joey is our training coach.
Up the Dubs!
(November 2018)
We had a special visitor (Captain Sinéad Ahern) from the ladies Dublin Senior Football Team who won the All-Ireland Ladies Senior Football Championship 2018. We got to see the Brendan Martin Cup and the Sam Maguire cup!
Traffic tally counting
(October 2018)
In October, our class learned about data collection and how we can use tally marks to quickly calculate large numbers of items and compare them to others when recording. We decided to record how much traffic uses the road just outside our school within 10 minutes. We recorded car traffic, bus traffic and bike traffic and compared the results.
National Tree Day
(4th October 2018)
We all know that trees are the very roots of our Mother Earth (pardon the pun).
We took the day to celebrate trees and how they contribute to the world and our lives.

Say hello to Adam the Scarecrow

We built Adam to help the vegetables growing in the school come to full harvest and keep away the crows! And it worked!
