Some Fun & Frolics in First Class from the End of the Year!
World Book Day: First Class marked World Book Day this year by sharing their favourite books with the class. Some in the class also dressed up in costume of some famous characters. First Class had great fun in talking about their favourite books and celebrating World Book Day with the rest of the school!
First Class have been learning about Road Safety and the importance of wearing a seatbelt. As part of this, we have created a posters to encourage others to wear theirs. The staff of Firhouse ETNS looked at our creations and decided the poster worked on by Chisom, Liam, Declan, Dhruv and Daniel highlighted the message best. Their poster will now represent our class in the RSA Seatbelt Safety Competition. Fingers Crossed!!!!!!
English Writing: For January and February, First class are looking at the writing of author Eric Carle and the Writing Trait of Voice.
Science Week: First had a great time looking at static electricity, building bridges, investigating what floats and building boats for Science week.
First Class Maths: During September, we went over some of the Maths ideas from Senior Infants with the help of teachers Sarah and Rachael.
