Hello Everyone,
Just a little reminder, if you wish to buy photos from County Photos, tomorrow is the last day. Also some of you have voiced concerns, which I appreciate hearing, that the cost of the photos is very high and so we will check out other options for next year.
Next Friday, 23rd October we're having our annual Self-Expression Day to celebrate Human Rights, where the children (and adults can join in too) dress up to express themselves in any way they wish. We will start the day with a disco in the yard at 8.30am.
Friday 23rd October is also ONE DAY TOGETHER for all Educate Together Schools. For this day we are all asked to fund raise for our patron Educate Together which is a charity and does not receive any financial aid from the government. Our idea is that our pupils will make cardboard cut-outs of themselves to display and we will write the words ONE DAY TOGETHER on the yard ground for filling with coin donations. Everyone donating a coin will receive a ticket for a raffle, in our school on Friday morning, of a Family Ticket to Imaginosity. Everyone donating a coin is also invited to print their name on raffle cards that will be entered into the Grand Prize Draw in the Educate Together Head Office:
In addition, I'd like to ask you to donate any old mobile phones you may have to our school. We'd like to have the children using apps on them. So ask everyone you know to think about sending in their old phones for recycling in this useful way.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the Book Fair, currently running in our school and dare I say crating a huge buzz all round. Clifford the dog visited the classes too. The PGTA has done a great job organising it all and to date sales have topped the €1000.00 mark. I'll let you know the total when the Book Fair closes on Tuesday afternoon and the amount raised for the school.
I hope you're all enjoying the weekend.
Very best regards,
Collette
