Hello Everyone,
I'm delighted to hear the children enjoyed Healthy Eating Week so much and now we're gearing up for a Wonderful World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March with Buddy Reading Groups, DEAR Times (Drop Everything And Read), Class Readings and all while everyone is dressed as a character from their favourite book!
If you, or a grandparent, would like to read to a class/classes on Thursday please let your child's Class Teacher know. You can read in any language and it might only be a short poem or part of a story... the choice is yours and the children will love to see you involved.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for your great support to our school through attending the quiz night, voluntary contributions and donations of most useful gifts. Everything you do is very much appreciated.
We now turn our attention to signing up for the Kube event which needs our support to succeed and we need it to succeed as the current update on finances shows we have €7k in bank account but when we pay outstanding bills of €5k this week it will be down to €2k and this will not last long. So please reconsider trying to help by contesting and looking for sponsorship in the greater community and by encouraging people to attend the event on the night. It is crucial that all parents, guardians and staff support this event. By working together we can do this and make a big profit for our school while having a really good fun night out.
Two of our teachers, Conor and Cillian, have signed up to compete so we're all looking forward to supporting them on the night as well as all the parents and friends who have signed up.
Thank you also for your submissions via Class Representatives regarding the Dress Code. The matter will be discussed at the next Board of Management meeting.
Meantime, I look forward to seeing some of you for World Book Day and weather permitting at another 'Move It Morning' tomorrow Wednesday 1st March 2017 as Dora has volunteered to do a salsa session.
Very best regards,
Collette
